Junior–Mid-Level AI Engineer – Chicago, IL Location: Chicago, IL — Hybrid Employment Type: Permanent | Full-Time Intellect Group is partnering with high-growth technology companies across Chicago that are hiring Junior and Mid-Level AI Engineers. These opportunities are suited to engineers with approximately 1–3 years of professional experience, as well as exceptional graduates with strong internships, research experience, or substantial hands‑on AI projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers, data scientists, and product teams to build AI systems that move beyond experimentation and into production. Our clients include funded startups, scaling technology companies, and established businesses operating across AI, fintech, healthcare, SaaS, and logistics. What You’ll Be Doing Designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models and AI-powered product features Building applications using LLMs, generative AI, NLP, and deep learning Developing end-to-end AI pipelines covering model training, deployment, evaluation, and monitoring Building RAG pipelines, semantic search tools, AI agents, and conversational applications Developing APIs and services that integrate AI models into customer-facing products Collaborating with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to solve real‑world business problems What We’re Looking For Approximately 1–3 years of experience in AI engineering, machine learning, data science, or software engineering Exceptional graduates with relevant internships, research, or technically strong personal projects will also be considered Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit‑learn, Hugging Face, or similar frameworks A solid understanding of machine learning, neural networks, transformers, and model evaluation Exposure to LLMs, generative AI, NLP, or deep learning Strong problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain the reasoning behind your work RAG, AI agents, vector databases, embeddings, or semantic search AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform Docker, FastAPI, Kubernetes, CI/CD, or other MLOps technologies SQL, data pipelines, API development, and production deployment Open‑source contributions, academic research, Kaggle competitions, or personal AI projects What’s on Offer: A base salary of $110,000–$150,000 Annual bonuses or equity options Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) plans with potential employer matching Flexible paid time off and paid parental leave Learning and professional‑development support Hybrid working and commuter benefits Clear progression into Senior, Lead, and Staff AI Engineering roles Apply Now If you are an early‑career AI Engineer looking to build meaningful, production‑ready AI systems, we would like to hear from you.
