Description

SUMMARY: The Utility Worker will work as part of a team to perform a multitude of tasks required for safe and efficient operation of their assigned process area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Required to efficiently and safely perform clean-up and operational tasks for the assigned production process.
• Required to operate manual valves and inspect a range of processes.
• Required to perform housekeeping tasks for the assigned process area.
• Required to be an active participant of all safety efforts, including adherence to policies and procedures.
• Will work as a group and independently to accomplish an assortment of tasks.
• Will serve as a task runner for various responsibilities

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• The employee is frequently required to pull, push, or lift heavy weights of paper, baling wire or strapping, or "breaker" bars (wedge with wooden handle, used to start a roll moving).
• Employee may be expected to push rolls of paper that weigh 1,000 to 10,000 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The noise level in the work environment is loud.
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
• Frequently exposed to hot and/or cold conditions.
• Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles; vibrations.
• Personal Protection Equipment is required at all times.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of (2) years of experience with a stable work history, preferably in manufacturing
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to operate industrial machinery (such as fork trucks and control panels) and testing/measuring instruments.
• Must have functional knowledge of basic computer systems.
• Ability to work at various heights, temperature and weather conditions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include overtime.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions including reading a tape.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Team-oriented and self-directed.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
• Ability to be self-aware and abide by all safety regulations.
• Must show proficiency in mathematics, locating information and reading for information which will be assessed and measured by the Work-Keys Profile
