Operating Room Nurse (RN)

The Operating Room (OR) team provides care for a diverse range of patients across multiple surgical specialties. These specialties include orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, gynecology, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma, specifically in a level 1 trauma center. The facility is equipped with two Da Vinci robots utilized by various surgical services, and offers a robust transplant program encompassing livers, kidneys, and hearts.

Job Duties

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the operating room.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field.
• Scrub and circulate during surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Job Requirements

• Active RN License (New York State license ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an operating room setting in a level 1 trauma environment.
• Ability to scrub and circulate for various surgical procedures.
• Telemetry experience is highly desired.

Certifications

• BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY) - required.
• ACLS Certification - preferred.

Preferred Surgical Experience

• Experience with specialty cases including transplants, plastics, and reconstructive surgeries.
• Familiarity with craniotomies.
• Strong background in orthopedic surgeries.
