Registered Nurse (RN) Medical / Surgical (Inpatient Oncology)

Immediate need for a talented Registered Nurse (RN) Medical / Surgical (Inpatient Oncology). This is a 13 weeks contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Cumming, GA (Onsite).

Pay Range: $43/hr - $48/hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule: 12hrs Day Shift
  • Hourly Pay Rate: $21/hour.
  • Per-Diem (Meals, Incidentals & Lodging): $996.80/week
  • Weekly Gross: $1,752.80 (based on completion of 40 hours per week)
  • Manage a diverse patient population with oncologic, medical, and surgical diagnoses.
  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care medications per established protocols.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor for treatment side effects, and intervene promptly.
  • Manage symptoms including pain, nausea, fatigue, and electrolyte imbalances.
  • Coordinate with oncologists, pharmacists, social workers, and palliative care teams.
  • Educate patients and families on cancer treatments, side effect management, and discharge planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EMR (Cerner or similar).
  • Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately.
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and oncology nursing standards.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Must have skills: Registered Nurse, RN, Medical Surgical, Oncology, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Active RN License (GA or Compact State)
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
  • NIHSS certification (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience within medical/surgical or oncology specialty
  • Ability to work 12-hour day shifts (7am7pm), schedule varies
  • No local candidates within 50 miles
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in chemotherapy administration and side effect management
  • Strong pain management and symptom control expertise
  • Excellent patient and family education abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Compassionate, patient-first mindset with attention to detail
  • Consistent 12-hour day shifts with guaranteed 36 hours per week (weekly gross based on 40 hours as noted)
