About the Position

Job Title: Critical Care Float Pool RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - IV Start - Telemetry - Ventilator management experience Description: Join our Critical Care Float Pool for weekend Day shifts. Nurses will float to a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity. Floating may include Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU. Nurses are required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. The ideal candidate should have proficiency with EPIC. Candidates must also possess skills in accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, and assisting with chest tube insertion/removal. Additional skills include blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, and central line care/management. Knowledge of chronic and acute renal failure and continuous IV sedation is necessary. Candidates should be adept in interpreting arterial blood gases and managing dysrhythmias. Experience in surgical intensive care units and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips is required. The nurse will need to have experience with high flow nasal cannula and perform 12 lead EKG/ECG. Candidates must possess strong communication abilities to work effectively with interdisciplinary support teams. Flexibility in schedule and willingness to float to various units is essential.
