Job Title School of Management: Adjunct Faculty for Applied Capital Markets (Undergraduate) Job Summary This position is located at the University of San Francisco Hilltop Campus at 2130 Fulton Street, San Francisco, California. Applicants must be able to teach in person at this location. The role involves teaching Applied Investing to undergraduate finance students, focusing on real investment data, Excel analysis, and live market applications. Course Description Teach students to apply theoretical concepts in investing with real data using primarily Excel. Projects involve Bloomberg and FactSet data to analyze crypto returns, housing valuations, FX carry trades, momentum strategies, ETF replication, and portfolio construction. Students will present results in simulated professional settings and develop investment and risk‑management decisions. Qualifications A Master’s degree in a related management/business discipline, or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent professional experience. Empirical experience analyzing trading strategies and performance using back‑testing. Experience as a quantitative analyst or researcher for an investment firm. Critical understanding of the relationship between professional expertise, social justice, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Relevant teaching experience or demonstrable ability to teach at the undergraduate or graduate level. Knowledge of instructional principles and assessment of learning. Planning and organizing skills sufficient to implement curriculum and job duties. Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Awareness of contemporary concerns in the discipline and an interpersonal orientation that encourages productive interactions with students and colleagues. Participation in the Silk Family Investment Institute: Responsibilities Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes. Prepare course materials such as syllabi, recordings, readings, assignments, and assessments. Deliver effective lectures, case analyses, simulations, and engaging learning activities. Facilitate inclusive classroom discussions. Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback. Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, progress, and outcomes. Select instructional materials in collaboration with full‑time faculty and order them through campus bookstore procedures. Maintain student grades and required reporting materials. Stay current with developments in the discipline by reading literature and attending conferences. Stay current on effective teaching methods via USF's Center for Teaching Excellence. Hold weekly office hours (at least 1 hour per section) to advise and assist students. Advise students on lifelong learning resources and study skills; refer to support services as appropriate.
