Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years' work experience in governmental accounting procedures, payroll processing, and automated data systems is required.
• A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
• Demonstrates high ethical standards and integrity, with accountability for decisions and conduct.
• Complies with drug-free workplace regulations, board policies, and administrative procedures.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues and contribute as part of a cohesive team.
• Commitment in maintaining current skills relevant to the position's objectives.
• Capability to follow complex instructions, identify errors, and resolve them independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and confidently with the public; professional and congenial telephone etiquette.
• Dependable and flexible, with a willingness to take on new responsibilities.
• Strong record-keeping skills, with the ability to compute and record mathematical data.
• Energetic and detail-oriented self-starter with excellent customer service skills.

Abilities Required:

• Assist with annual compliance audits.
• Supports training activities to update district staff on financial accountability procedures.
• Assist with banking transfers and reconciliations.
• Keeps the treasurer informed about the district's financial status and assists in aligning budget and appropriation measures with district goals.
• Ensures the accuracy and privacy of confidential information.
• Collaborates with other departments to resolve problems and exchange information effectively.
• Provides backup support for accounts payable and receivable as needed.
• Recommends and implements internal controls and accounting procedures as directed by the treasurer.
• Assists the treasurer in overseeing the fixed asset system; conducting spot checks for accuracy, and reconciling fixed asset reports to accounting records annually.
• Assists treasurer in fiscal year end closing procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned and requested by the treasurer.

4122.01 - DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE

The Board of Education believes that quality education is not possible in an environment affected by drugs. It will seek, therefore, to establish and maintain an educational setting which is not tainted by the use or evidence of use of any controlled substance.

The Board shall not permit the manufacture, possession, use, distribution, or dispensing of any controlled substance, alcohol, and any drug paraphernalia as the term is defined by law, by any member of the District's classified staff at any time while on District property or while involved in any District-related activity or event. Any staff member who violates this policy shall be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with District guidelines and the terms of collective bargaining agreements.

The Superintendent shall establish guidelines that ensure compliance with this policy and that each staff member is given a copy of the standards regarding unlawful possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by staff and informed that compliance with this requirement is mandatory. Such guidelines shall provide for appropriate disciplinary actions, if and when needed, which comply with the terms of any negotiated agreement.
