About this unit Labor and Delivery is a Level 3 birthing center. The unit has 17 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, a 3 bed recover room, and an 8‑bed triage. Antepartum is a 9‑bed unit that is part of the birthing center, with the focus being on high‑risk pregnancy. About Dearborn Hospital Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the “Top 10 Hospitals” in Michigan, this major teaching and research hospital has been advancing care since 1953. It is a Level II trauma center and has been recognized for clinical excellence and innovation in the fields of orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart & vascular, and cancer care. Scope of Work The RN, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient‑family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record. Qualifications Associate in Nursing – Required Bachelor in Nursing – Required within 5 years if new graduate or nurse with less than one (1) year RN experience Graduates from non‑accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination MI Registered Nurse (RN) required or if new grad within 60 days of hire AHA, ARC, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer NRP within 6 months of hire/transfer EFM Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification within 1 year Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years Requires inpatient acute care RN experience, highly prefer L&D RN experience Corewell Health cares for you Comprehensive benefits package to meet your financial, health, and work/life balance goals.
