Attending Psychologist

Position Description Attending Psychologist - Complex Medical Disease. UCSF Health is currently recruiting for a psychologist position in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The position will be filled in a rank and series commensurate with experience, with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2026 or thereafter. Qualifications PhD in psychology or equivalent, postdoctoral training in psychology or equivalent, and licensed to practice psychology in California at the time of appointment. Demonstrated specialization in health psychology. Demonstrated clinical, educational, and administrative skills with a strong commitment to an academic career as a clinician‑educator. Competence in working with a range of communities and populations. Applicants must meet all of the requirements by the time of hire. Responsibilities Providing specialized health psychology services to patients with co‑morbid complex medical disease, such as functional gastrointestinal disorders, including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and stress management strategies. Participating in teaching, supervision and assessment of trainees. Collaborating with other department members on research projects and scholarly activities. Engaging in innovation and improvements in clinical, research, and educational programs. Participating in departmental, university, and public service. Benefits The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The minimum base salary range for this position is $106,000 – $319,800. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides eligibility for additional compensation.
