Job Description As our new Associate Geotechnical Engineer, you will primarily support the growth of Ramboll’s international mine tailings storage engineering and Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management conformance practice. You may also work on projects in other Ramboll practice areas such as coal combustion residual (CCR) engineering, contaminated site remediation design, dam engineering, and expert witness support. Key Responsibilities Perform geotechnical analyses including slope stability, seepage, static and seismic liquefaction assessments, and settlement analyses. Review and interpret in‑situ and laboratory testing data to develop design geotechnical parameters. Review design, operational, and governance information for tailings storage facilities relative to the Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management. Support field‑work projects, including groundwater sampling and geotechnical drilling. Perform construction quantity takeoffs and cost estimating. Support report development. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering. Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering or completion of the test within six months of employment date. Coursework or experience with fundamental geotechnical concepts including soil mechanics and slope stability. Ability to work semi‑independently with limited but regular oversight from experienced Ramboll staff. Ability to travel approximately 10–20% of the time, with typical trip lengths of up to one week. Salary Transparency Statement At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $57,952 to $72,440 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well‑being, professional development, and work‑life balance.
