Food Service Director

Key Responsibilities Plan menus that meet nutritional guidelines, regulatory standards, and residents' preferences and cultural needs Ensure therapeutic and special diets (such as diabetic, low sodium, and texture-modified diets) are prepared and served correctly Hire, train, schedule, and supervise dietary and kitchen staff Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring food safety, sanitation, and proper storage at all times Order food, supplies, and equipment while managing inventory and staying within budget Maintain compliance with NYS Department of Health and NYC Health Department regulations, and prepare for inspections and surveys Keep required records, including temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and staff in-services Collaborate with nursing, case management, and administration to meet individual resident needs Gather resident feedback and participate in resident meetings to continuously improve the dining experience Qualifications 3 to 5 years of food service management experience, with healthcare, assisted living, or senior living experience preferred Knowledge of therapeutic diets, dietary regulations, and food safety standards NYC Food Protection Certificate required; ServSafe Manager Certification a plus Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential a plus Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Experience with budgeting, inventory control, and staff scheduling Flexibility to work occasional weekends and holidays as needed Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs We Offer Health insurance Paid time off and sick days Paid holidays Retirement investment plan Growth and advancement opportunities A supportive management team with an open door policy The chance to make a real difference in residents' daily lives #J-18808-Ljbffr Castleseniorlivingny
