The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for executing and expanding on key initiatives inside the supplier quality organization. The role includes numerous activities such as compliance audits, process and product audits, MRB, FAI witnessing, review and sign‑off, problem solving, corrective and preventive actions, supplier performance reporting, and other quality improvement activities. Travel Travel is required. Job Responsibilities Assess supplier manufacturing and quality processes through supplier audits following various standards, including AS9100 compliance, special process, APQP, process, and product audits. Lead or support MRB activities to optimise disposition of non‑conforming material and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Perform on‑site supplier visits for root‑cause analysis and verification of corrective actions for supplier quality issues. Promote and facilitate continuous‑improvement techniques such as Lean, Six‑Sigma, Poka‑Yoke, and PFMEA. Facilitate the escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues within assigned projects and suppliers. Support suppliers in evaluating existing processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and developing solutions to optimise performance using problem‑solving techniques. Provide technical guidance to suppliers to solve process and product quality issues and improve internal and outgoing quality performance. Develop and maintain detailed and accurate reporting of supplier performance and quality improvement progress; report weekly and monthly to meet customer expectations. Undertake special projects as required. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance. Communicate efficiently and effectively with all stakeholders to ensure timely responsiveness to abnormalities. Required Skills 8+ years of hands‑on experience as a Quality Engineer in an aerospace manufacturing environment. 5‑8 years of FAI experience with AS9102 standards at a quality engineering level. Strong understanding of engineering processes, drawing conventions, interpretation, specifications, and GD&T. 5‑8 years of hands‑on experience with ISO9001 and AS9100 quality management systems, especially in production, quality, and logistics. Knowledge of FAA, EAR, and ITAR standards and regulations. Experience leading customer audits. Strong verbal, written, and communication skills. Project management, time management, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively as a team member and lead other team members. Additional Desired Skills Practical experience and implementation of quality engineering tools such as DOE, FMEA, SPC, RCCA, APQP, PPAP, control plans, material control, process control, systems performance, product evaluation, MSA, metrology, automated measurement, and software. General Requirements Ability to pass background and drug screen. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required. Vision exam required prior to hire, meeting specified near, far, and color vision criteria. US citizenship required for certain government contracts. Additional Qualifications (Preferred) Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, quality management). ASQ or equivalent professional certifications such as CQE, CQT, CQA, CMQ, CSQP. Six‑Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification. Working Conditions Productivity: perform work efficiently with minimal direction. Mobility: light lifting, prolonged sitting, and occasional walking or standing. Vision: sufficient to read documents, computer screens, and observe behavior. Environment: typical office conditions with interaction with internal and external stakeholders. Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; occasional extended hours and weekend overtime. Physical duties: use hands or fingers, occasional standing, walking (1–2 miles/day), sitting, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds; occasional travel by car. Additional $750 paid upon referrals’ full completion of 90 days’ employment. Pay Range $85,000–115,000 annually. The salary information is a general guideline only. Pay is determined based on scope and responsibilities, candidate’s experience, education, key skills, peer equity, and business considerations.
