The Advanced Practitioners (APPs) are the main clinical driver of care and work consistently in the OR each week, first‑assisting in a variety of robotic surgeries. Subspecialties include emergency general surgery, bariatric, colorectal, minimally invasive, and hepatobiliary surgeries. With the upcoming robotic training program, APPs in general surgery will perform cutting‑edge robotic surgeries. Role Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners Location 79 Jefferson Street, Hartford, 06102 Setting Inpatient, general surgery Schedule Full‑time, 3×13 hour shifts. Mainly Monday‑Friday 6am‑7:30pm. Premium differentials offered. In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Advanced Practitioners develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists. Advanced Practitioners provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.
