Bus Monitor

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and attentive individual to ensure the safety and well-being of students while they are transported on school buses. The Bus Monitor will work to assist the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment, promoting positive behavior among students, and addressing any issues that may arise during transit. Responsibilities Supervise students while they board and disembark from the bus, ensuring their safety at all times. Assist the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment during transportation. Monitor student behavior and enforce rules to promote a respectful and safe atmosphere. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding any concerns or incidents. Report any issues or incidents to the appropriate school authorities promptly. Provide assistance to students with special needs as required. Conduct regular checks of the bus to ensure it is clean and free of hazards. Attend training sessions and staff meetings as necessary. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience working with children or in a supervisory role is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations. Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures. Must pass background checks and drug screening as required. Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons. Ability to lift and assist students when necessary. It is possible that the filling of positions and/or transfers may create vacancies in other positions.
