We're seeking a highly organized and quick-thinking Dispatcher to join our operations team and help coordinate transportation services across our network.

About the Role

As a Dispatcher , you'll oversee the coordination of transportation requests, monitor active trips, communicate with drivers, and help ensure passengers receive prompt and dependable service. You'll be responsible for making real-time operational decisions while maintaining professionalism and accuracy in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities of a Dispatcher:

Transportation Coordination

• Dispatch trips to drivers based on availability, location, and service needs.
• Monitor trip progress and fleet activity throughout the day.
• Ensure timely service by coordinating ride coverage and route adjustments.
• Respond quickly to service interruptions, delays, and operational challenges.
• Maximize fleet utilization while maintaining service quality and efficiency.
• Assist in balancing customer demand with available transportation resources.

Driver Communication & Support

• Serve as a primary point of contact for drivers during their shifts.
• Provide trip details, operational updates, and route information.
• Assist drivers with scheduling adjustments and service requests.
• Resolve driver concerns and escalate issues when necessary.
• Maintain consistent communication to support safe and efficient operations.
• Help drivers remain productive and informed throughout the day.

Customer Service

• Communicate with customers regarding trip status, delays, and service updates.
• Handle service inquiries with professionalism and urgency.
• Assist in resolving passenger concerns and transportation issues.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
• Deliver exceptional service while maintaining a calm and positive attitude.

Operational Administration

• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities and trip assignments.
• Update information within dispatch and transportation management systems.
• Track service performance and assist with operational reporting.
• Monitor transportation schedules and service metrics.
• Ensure documentation remains complete, organized, and accurate.

Problem Solving & Decision Making

• Respond to traffic delays, vehicle issues, scheduling conflicts, and unexpected service disruptions.
• Evaluate situations quickly and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with management and operations leaders to maintain service reliability.
• Support process improvements that enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Help ensure daily operational goals are achieved.

Qualifications of a Dispatcher:

Required

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

• Experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics, fleet operations, customer service, or administrative support.
• Experience using dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, or transportation platforms.
• Familiarity with scheduling drivers, coordinating transportation requests, or managing service operations.
• Knowledge of taxi, shuttle, NEMT, paratransit, or passenger transportation services.
