Founding AI Engineer

Arguseye is building the future of cybersecurity analysis. We combine AI agents, deep domain expertise, and modern software engineering to transform how organizations identify, understand, and mitigate security risks. Our platform helps customers model complex systems, analyze threats, and make security decisions faster and more effectively than traditional approaches. We're an early-stage startup with active customers, ambitious goals, and a rare opportunity to define an entirely new category of AI-powered cybersecurity tooling. This is not a large-company role. You'll be joining at the ground floor and helping shape both the product and the company. The Opportunity We're looking for a founding engineer who is excited about building AI-native products from first principles. You'll work directly with the founders to design, build, and scale core parts of the platform. We care most about strong Python engineering, backend systems, and experience building with modern AI technologies—including agents, LLM workflows, orchestration frameworks, and evaluation systems. You should be comfortable owning problems end-to-end, moving between architecture discussions, backend implementation, AI experimentation, and product delivery. While you'll contribute across the stack, we're primarily looking for someone who thinks of themselves as a backend and AI engineer first. What You'll Do Design and build AI-powered product capabilities using modern LLM and agent frameworks Develop and scale Python backend services and APIs Architect systems that combine AI agents, structured workflows, and domain-specific analysis Build infrastructure for evaluation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of AI systems Own major product areas from concept through production Work directly with customers to understand workflows and validate solutions Help define technical architecture, engineering standards, and development processes Contribute to frontend development when needed using React and TypeScript Collaborate closely with founders on product strategy and roadmap decisions What We're Looking For Must Have Experience building backend systems, APIs, and production services Experience building with LLMs, AI agents, agentic workflows, RAG systems, or related AI technologies Proven ability to ship products quickly and independently Strong product instincts and willingness to engage directly with customers Comfort operating in ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information Desire to help build a company, not just write code Nice to Have React and TypeScript experience Experience with agent orchestration frameworks and AI infrastructure Experience with AWS, GCP, cloud architecture, or DevOps Cybersecurity, threat modeling, or security engineering experience Experience at an early-stage startup or as a founding engineer Why Join Arguseye Founding-level ownership and influence Significant equity opportunity Direct impact on company direction, product strategy, and technical architecture Work on challenging problems at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity Build alongside experienced founders and engaged customers Opportunity to grow into a senior technical leadership role as the company scales Location We're building our team in the Bay Area and strongly prefer candidates who can work onsite regularly.
