Field Service Technician

Title: Field Service Technician
Location: North Randall, OH
Duration: Long-Term Contract

ROLE DESCRIPTION
Represents the organization to customers by providing information, responding to inquiries or troubleshooting product problems. Typically reports to a Supervisor or Manager. Level II employees have a good understanding of the day-to-day job role, can apply their experience to more complicated tasks and work under limited supervision, though decision-making is still not required as they generally follow existing processes and procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required, plus 1 to 2 years of related experience.

ROLE SNAPSHOT
Provides operational, maintenance and networking support for customers through product and customer skills knowledge. Works closely with Service Managers and other Technicians to provide the basic support with seamless technical expertise of Canon Solutions America supported products in accordance with the current Service and Parts Standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnoses basic mechanical, software, network and system failures, using established procedures.
- Services and Repairs designated equipment to Canon standards and specifications.
- Working knowledge and aptitude of multiple product groups. This includes basic aspects of troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Meets customer demands by providing efficient, responsive and accurate Field/Shop/on-site maintenance.
- Properly maintains all technical information, FSRs, Expense Reports, and Canon property assigned.
- Maintains all technical information and Canon property assigned and provides direction to less senior technicians.
- Provides the solutions of escalated technical and/or customer service-related problem areas for any territory requested.

OTHER EXPECTATIONS (including field of education, motor vehicle, travel, OT)
- Associates degree in electronics or electrical engineering capacity from an accredited college or technical school or equivalent experience.
- Possess a basic understanding of internet environments. Successful completion of the 120-day introductory period and completion of the PDIF new hire class.
- Requires some travel (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary.
- Required to take all necessary steps to obtain security and/or other clearances required by customers to enter the customers premises.
PPS Only: - Must be able to work in a 24x7 environment, perform shift work and do on-call rotations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT (including bending, twisting, listing, or handling of biological materials or waste)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be in a mobile activity more than 50% of the time (walking, standing, stooping/kneeling).
