RN - Emergency DepartmentJoin a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region, providing critical nursing care in a busy Emergency Department. This role offers the opportunity to work in a Level IV trauma designated Critical Access Hospital with a Level II Cardiac Center and Level III Stroke Center, delivering timely and compassionate care to patients in urgent need.Job SummaryUnder the guidance of the Emergency Department Director, the RN will provide general nursing care using sound judgment and nursing principles. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, assisting providers during examinations, and accurately documenting patient care. The RN will develop individualized care plans and ensure compliance with nursing standards and legal requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols.Provide accurate and timely information to healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.Assess, care for, and document patient conditions using the nursing process.Prepare equipment and assist providers during patient treatment and examinations.Follow physician orders promptly and document all patient care activities thoroughly.Develop patient-specific care plans within 24 hours of admission.Maintain fiscal responsibility by appropriately charging supplies and pharmacy items.Adhere to legal and ethical standards, including obtaining necessary consents.Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training to foster teamwork and professional growth.Education and ExperienceGraduation from an accredited nursing school required.Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.At least one year of RN experience in an emergency room setting preferred.Licenses and CertificationsCurrent and unrestricted nursing license for Washington State.Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certifications required.TNCC certification required within six months of hire.Skills and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles.Ability to apply age-specific growth and development principles to patient care.Respect for patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office products.Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.Work Environment and BenefitsThis full-time position offers 12-hour shifts in a 40-hour workweek.
