Under general direction of the Supervisor of Building Trades (SBT), the Maintenance Mechanic in the Facilities Management Division (FMD) Central Services is responsible for independently performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance tasks to maintain, improve, and repair the buildings, occupied spaces, mechanical systems and equipment in accordance with Department of General Services (DGS) and FMD policies, procedures, and guidelines. This position may require travel. This position requires participation in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Employer Pull Notice Program. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment. The Department of General Services does not participate in E-Verify for employment authorization purposes.
