Respiratory Therapist

Overview We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist, certified or registered (CRT or RRT), internally referred to as Respiratory Care Practitioner, at St. Mary's Medical Center (SMMC), a member of Prime Healthcare. As a Respiratory Therapist (RT), you will, under the direction and authorization of the Medical Director and Cardiopulmonary Director/Manager, perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Responsibilities Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Emphasize assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population‑specific needs and requirements of the patient. When a supervisor is absent, may act as team lead, responsible for the section or department during the shift. Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with cardiopulmonary problems such as emphysema, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, cardiac failure, and chest trauma. Qualifications Core Requirements: State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintenance. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and/or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintenance. PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintenance. High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: Two years experience as an RCP. NRP certified.
