Job Title: Forklift Operator - Order Picker

Job Description

As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for riding both sit-down and stand-up forklifts to pick orders from an invoice sheet. Your role involves locating and pulling items, then stacking them on a forklift. You will also operate a sit-down forklift, handle items weighing 50 pounds or more, and may be required to load trailers and pack items for shipping.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts for order picking.
• Locate, pull, and stack items weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Load trailers and pack items for shipping.
• Occasionally work in cooler and freezer environments to pick orders.
• Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in fulfilling orders.
• Aim to achieve the best pick rate through self-motivation and initiative.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
• Proficient in using pallet jacks and order pickers.
• Warehouse, material handling, and order picking experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must have stand-up forklift experience.
• Ability to work in cold temperatures.
• Competitiveness and self-motivation for achieving high pick rates.

Work Environment

You will work in a warehouse setting as part of a small crew of 7-8 people. The environment is relaxed and free from micromanagement. You will handle and distribute commodities such as flour, sugar, food coloring, and frosting. The work involves continuous lifting of items weighing 50 pounds throughout the shift, which runs Monday through Friday from 3 PM until 11 PM or until tasks are completed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
