• Possession of high school diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in an institutional food service setting.
• Basic knowledge of safe food handling procedures.
• Good grooming, health, and communication skills
• Literacy in reading, writing, and basic math skills, including weights and measures.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.

Basic job functions

• Food prep and meal service to students (including but not limited to operation of dish machine, ovens, mixer, and other related kitchen equipment).
• Moderate to heavy lifting (up to 75 pounds may be required).
• Sweeping, mopping, and general cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas or other duties assigned by the Food Service Director.

The candidate should enjoy working with adults and children of all ages in a fast-paced work environment. The candidate should also be able to tolerate hot and cold temperatures.
