Veterinarian | Medical Director

Job Description

Job Description

Want to lead a veterinary practice where you can shape the team, strengthen medical standards, and help build a lasting community presence?
This Medical Director opportunity in the greater San Antonio area offers the chance to guide a growing small-animal practice while remaining involved in clinical medicine.

You'll partner with practice management to develop the team, support veterinarians at different career stages, and improve both patient care and day-to-day operations. For a veterinarian who enjoys developing people as much as treating patients, this role offers meaningful influence over the practice's direction.

What Could Make This a Better Move

• Shape the practice's future. Help establish clinical priorities, improve processes, and guide continued growth.

• Mentor fellow veterinarians. Support colleagues through clinical guidance, collaboration, and professional development.

• Influence team culture. Build an environment where communication, teamwork, and high-quality medicine are priorities.

• Stay connected to patient care. Continue practicing general veterinary medicine while taking on broader leadership responsibilities.

• Earn beyond base compensation. The package includes quarterly production compensation and a dedicated Medical Director stipend, with no negative accrual.

• Develop as a leader. Leadership training and mentorship resources are available to support your continued growth.

What You'll Be Doing

This small-animal general practice focuses on preventive care, wellness visits, vaccinations, and soft-tissue surgery. The opportunity combines clinical work with responsibility for medical quality, team development, and practice growth.

Who Might Love This

This role may suit an experienced veterinarian ready to step into formal leadership, particularly someone who enjoys mentoring others and building a strong team culture. A growth-oriented clinician who values both sound medicine and operational improvement may find this opportunity especially rewarding.

A DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree is required, along with an appropriate state veterinary license and DEA eligibility.
