Part-Time Bookkeeping Opportunity

Abel Personnel is recruiting an experienced Part-Time Full-Charge Bookkeeper (onsite) with strong QuickBooks Desktop skills to support three related businesses and approximately 40 real-estate properties, including a 98-unit apartment complex.

This position offers a flexible part-time schedule and competitive hourly pay. It is an excellent opportunity for a senior bookkeeper, property accountant, or real-estate accounting professional who enjoys working independently, managing the full accounting cycle, and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities.

Full-Charge Bookkeeper Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Reconcile approximately 25 bank accounts
• Process and enter payroll information
• Process 401(k) distributions approximately twice per month
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts
• Complete month-end closing activities
• Prepare financial reports for ownership
• Record and classify transactions in QuickBooks Desktop
• Maintain accounting records for three businesses
• Support accounting for approximately 40 real-estate properties
• Assist with accounting for a 98-unit apartment complex
• Post tenant receivables to the appropriate property and tenant accounts
• Review financial transactions and account balances for accuracy
• Research and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
• Assist with other bookkeeping and accounting duties as needed

The property manager currently collects rent and manages security deposits. The Full-Charge Bookkeeper will be responsible for ensuring that the corresponding tenant receivables are accurately posted to the appropriate accounting records in QuickBooks.

Required Qualifications

• Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop
• Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Experience completing bank and account reconciliations
• Working knowledge of payroll processing and entry
• General ledger and month-end closing experience
• Ability to prepare accurate financial reports
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to handle confidential financial information appropriately

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous full-charge bookkeeping or senior bookkeeping experience
• Property-management or real-estate accounting experience
• Experience supporting multiple businesses or legal entities
• Experience maintaining financial records for multiple properties
• Experience working with a large number of bank accounts
• Familiarity with tenant ledgers and posting tenant receivables
• Apartment-complex or residential-property accounting experience
