Academic Interventionist Pittsfield Public Schools Herberg Middle School - Pittsfield, Massachusetts Job Description The teacher is the district's primary agent for instruction with responsibility for presenting the prescribed curriculum effectively and employing a diagnostic/prescriptive approach to identification and subsequent adaptation to the needs and interests of the students. The duties commonly associated with the position include but are not limited to: Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of curriculum content Planning and assessment of instruction and curriculum Maintaining classroom management Planning and delivering effective instruction Promoting high standards and expectations for student achievement Communicating with students, parents, and other district employees to work on behalf of students Promoting equity and appreciation of diversity Position Details Position Type: Full-time Job Category: Special Education > Alternative Learning Environment Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred. MA DESE Teacher Certification - any core content license 5-8. Experience teaching at the middle school level preferred. Experience teaching Middle School English, science and math. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Desire to work with students and families. Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
