Housekeeping

Avir at Lufkin - The housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and sanitary conditions throughout the entire facility in compliance with the Department of Health Standards under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager. Will work closely with facility Administrators and staff to maintain a safe, home-like atmosphere. Maintain Rights of Residents as set forth by the Texas Department of Health Laws and Regulations. Changes bed linen. Cleans resident room, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, and other common areas. Sweeps and mops floors. Dusts furniture and equipment. Washes walls and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, and sills Empties trash and waste to disposal area. Replenishes supplies in resident suites, on housekeeping carts, and throughout the facility as required. Transports small equipment or tools between departments. Knowledgeable of and utilizes equipment safely and appropriately. Performs minor maintenance tasks such as unplugging toilets, changing light bulbs, etc. Assists residents to and from meals or activities on occasions as required. Knowledgeable of and implements all safety, universal precautions, and Company policies/procedures for the protection of residents, co-workers, and self. Other duties as assigned, with or without reasonable accommodations, to assist in maintaining quality standards and maintaining the facility as a viable and successful entity. Previous nursing home experience preferred Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Ability to remain calm under stress. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies. Ability to demonstrate patience, tact, courtesy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude. Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile residents within the facility. Ability to read and write in English. Must be able to lift and transfer a minimum of 50 pounds.
