Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PICU RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PICU RN) with a minimum of one year of experience. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to critically ill children in a fast-paced environment while floating between the Pediatric Medical/Surgical unit and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as needed.

Job Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU.
Assess and monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and implement treatment plans.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Maintain patient documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.
Participate in self-scheduling, with shifts available for 3 consecutive days or split into separate shifts as needed.

Schedule

This position requires three 12-hour shifts per week, with night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Weekend shifts are variable and may be required.

Patient Ratios

The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 in the PICU, ensuring a focused and attentive care environment for each child.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
Minimum of one year of experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
Ability to float between units as necessary (Pedi Med/Surg and NICU).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
