SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The Facilities Team Member is responsible for providing exceptional customer support. The Facilities Team Member plays a focused and supportive role on the Facilities team by assisting with basic facility access, light cleanup, and event readiness under the direction of the Facilities Director. This is an entry-level, limited-scope role ideal for individuals who are task-oriented, dependable, and enjoy serving behind the scenes to help maintain a welcoming environment at Journey Community Church. This position does not carry janitorial, supervisory, or event management responsibilities, and exists to support campus readiness on an as-needed basis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Provides excellent customer service to the attenders, volunteers, and staff of Journey. Responds to requests with a polite sense of urgency and uses critical thinking to predict problems before they arise. Provides event support for all events on and off the Journey campus, such as Christmas, Easter, All Church Rallies, Baptisms, etc. This includes but is not limited to equipment and parking lot set up, transportation and/or set up of signs and other necessary seating, tables or equipment at the event location, monitoring the location of the event for any cleaning or adjustments that need to be made during the event, and final tear down and clean up following the event. Unlock and lock designated campus areas for scheduled services, gatherings, or ministry functions. Perform walkthroughs of campus spaces to check for basic cleanliness and readiness (e.g., turning on lights, ensuring rooms are clear of debris, alerting supervisor of issues). Assist with light-duty support tasks, such as moving chairs or signage under staff direction. Act as a point of contact during off-hours to relay urgent facility issues (e.g., plumbing concerns, unlocked doors) to Facilities Director Complete small errands or deliveries on-site (e.g., delivering keys, picking up supplies, posting signage). Report concerns or irregularities to the Facilities Director in a timely manner. Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the Facilities Director. Other related duties as assigned. Position Characteristics This role does not include regular custodial or janitorial cleaning duties. This role does not supervise events or manage room setups. This role supports existing plans rather than creating or executing event logistics. Most work is performed independently with minimal oversight. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Education, Training & Experience Basic interest in the field of facilities High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be 18+ and able to lift 50 lbs occasionally. Strong reliability and attention to detail. Friendly, discreet, and willing to serve in the background. Available to work a flexible part-time schedule, especially on weekends or evenings. Job Skills, Knowledge, Expectations and Abilities Flexibility and adaptability on the job site WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in work environment can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Candidate must be willing and able to comply with all OSHA regulations. This position takes place in our facilities office, church offices and the grounds around the Journey campus, and offsite locations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demand described here are representative of those that must be met by and employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires lifting heavy objects, walking and standing for long periods of time and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, work in small or difficult spaces. Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina. POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS This is an at-will, part-time, non-exempt position. Schedule will be determined by the Facilities Manager based on business needs. Days and work hours are subject to change. Candidate must also be willing to work Journey events which may include nights, weekends and holidays. ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATION Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. For the safety of our attenders, volunteers, and staff, candidate’s employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Candidates under the age of 18 years may be required to furnish and maintain a valid work permit.
