Prep Cook PositionShanna and Bryan Glazer JCC Event Center is seeking to fill the position of Prep Cook. We have a program that will allow our employees to take an advance on a portion of their earned wages.Free employee membership to the Shanna and Bryan Glazer JCC and JCC on the Cohn Campus, which have fitness centers, pools, adult and children programming, childcare and much more.Employee discounts offered on any enrollment in our preschool, aftercare and summer camp programs at any of our facilities.Flexible Work ScheduleEssential Job Functions (but not limited to)Perform all kitchen duties as assignedCleans and sanitizes the working surfaces, tools, utensils and work areaUnderstands and complies consistently with our standard cooking methods and proceduresCarefully supervises the food temperature and the temperature from cooling to ensure that the food is kept at proper temperature.Accepts or rejects food from suppliers, based on their appearance and qualityLabel and stock all items so they can be organized and easily accessibleAble to put incoming trucks away in proper spots.Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems or product shortages to ChefFollow all prep lists created by chefPrepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping Vegetables, cutting meats etcAble to assist others in the kitchenOpens and closes kitchen effectivelyPosition RequirementsA team player with good communication skillsAbility to interact and develop rapport with kitchen staffKnowledge of proper and safe use of tools and equipment and safe food handlingManual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensilsProfessional appearance and attitudeMust be able to work a flexible scheduleMust be efficient with timePhysical RequirementsLifting, pushing and pulling in excess of 50 pounds using proper body mechanics and/or available equipment as physically required for extended periods of time.Be able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach for extended periods of timeMust be capable of work at heights, sometimes above 10 feet.Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions typical for Florida environment.We are an Equal Opportunity EmployerWe are a Drug Free Workplace
