Pickers - 1st Shift

About the Opportunity Job Title: Pickers Pay Rate: $16.50/hr Location: Shakopee, MN Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 5AM-1PM or 6AM-2PM Position Type: Temp to Hire Requirements and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred. 1 or more years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment is nice to have. Must have the ability to read and interpret job specifications and identify the correct parts for fulfilling customer orders (counting and reading English is a must). Basic communication skills (written and/or verbal) – must be able to speak and understand English. Basic knowledge of routine packing procedures, techniques, equipment, and general warehouse procedures. Able to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items in accordance with operating instructions or under guidance of a higher-level employee. Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs. This is not constant, but there are boxes and lifting them from shelf to the carts is a requirement. Standing/walking for long durations of time. Use hands and fingers to lift and reach. Duties and Responsibilities Pick or package a variety of printed materials or related items using a variety of packing procedures and techniques. Follow detailed procedures to perform routine packing work. Assemble finished products into boxes or containers for shipping. Perform related tasks such as placing labels on packages, putting manuals into binders, and handling boxes for final product. Ensure accurate shipping information is attached and packages are shipped according to specified schedule. Place, arrange, mark, seal, and tag items in bundles, on pallets and/or in containers, bins, and bulk storage. Meet established productivity and quality standards. Count and sort various product items. May feed, remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels, or other in-process product to and from the equipment in the area assigned. Confirm what pickers have pulled and they will be packaging it. Benefits May be eligible for 5 paid holidays.
