Job Description

Duties

• Perform bench work involving the assembly, disassembly, repair, modification, and maintenance of various parts, assemblies, subassemblies, and components of pneudraulic systems.
• Use test equipment, hand and power tools, and measuring devices to test and troubleshoot less complex hydraulic and pneudraulic components and systems.
• Make internal adjustments during overhaul and test of less complex fuel, oil, and pneumatic components.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints and other technical information to complete assignments.
• Perform limited electrical work associated with pneumatic and hydraulic components.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.

• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: (1) Disassemble, assemble, test and troubleshoot items to assist in maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems; (2) Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to complete assigned tasks; (3) Using trade power and hand tools; (4) Assisting in basic troubleshooting to isolate faults in less complex components.
