Step-Down Registered Nurse

Seeking a Step-Down Registered Nurse for a critical care stepdown unit. The facility accommodates adults and geriatric patients with various diagnoses. Common conditions include congestive heart failure, post-heart catheterization, and respiratory failure. This role requires proficiency in managing cardiac drips and performing frequent vital sign and neurovascular checks. Post-procedural care for vascular procedures is essential. Experience with medication administration and emergency medication management is required. Candidates should be skilled in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing intravenous vascular access. Knowledge of infection prevention and following isolation precautions is necessary. Strong communication and teamwork skills are a plus, as interdisciplinary support is available. The night shift entails a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4-5. This position guarantees 36 hours per week with weekend coverage required. Travelers are accepted based on experience and will undergo training on the facility's electronic medical record system. First-time travelers may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
