Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit setting with varying acuity levels, including patients who may present as Progressive Care or Telemetry-level in larger facilities
• Maintain expected nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4, with flexibility to 1:5 during emergencies
• Perform IV insertions and manage telemetry monitoring; must be able to read rhythm strips
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Adhere to unit scheduling expectations, including some weekend shifts; weekend block schedules (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon) may be considered

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in West Virginia or a Compact state; pending licensure accepted at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience overall; at least 1 year in Med/Surg or Telemetry and 2 years in a Stepdown setting
• BLS (BCLS) and ACLS certifications required — must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Proficiency in IV insertion and telemetry strip interpretation
• Candidates must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates residing between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Minimum of 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from within the past 2 years required at time of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience is a plus, though not required
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience managing patients across a range of acuity levels within a Stepdown or PCU environment
