GA Foods is seeking to hire a Food Prep Cook for our Saint Petersburg, location. The Food Prep Cook is responsible for preparing food for daily distribution by following pre-defined recipes and menus, while meeting time-sensitive requirements and adhering to food safety standards and specifications at our St. Petersburg location. This role includes packing and portioning food according to menu specifications, assisting with clean-up, storage, required recordkeeping, and performing other duties as assigned. Responsibilities 

• Prepare meals under the direction of the Kitchen Supervisor or Unit Management for distribution, following standardized recipes and portion controls
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and temperature control protocols
• Assist with cleaning the kitchen, packing area, and other areas as directed
• Perform general utility duties as assigned
• Prepare meats, sauces, casseroles, desserts, and gravies
• Operate meat slicers for slicing meat products
• Complete and maintain required paperwork and records
• Assist with facility sanitation and housekeeping
• Pack food products and components accurately according to menu specifications
• Participate in all required company training, including but not limited to HACCP, GMP requirements, and ServSafe certification
• Provide support to Packing and Sanitation staff
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Experience 

• Some industrial cooking experience preferred
• Ability to operate equipment such as meat slicers, steam kettles, convection ovens, warmers, pallet jacks, and similar equipment
• Ability to follow written recipes and cooking/packaging instructions accurately
• Must be able to meet the employer’s attendance standards
• Ability to portion and pack products to precise quantities and counts
• Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds repeatedly on a regular basis throughout the shift
• Required to work a full-time scheduled shift from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm or until production is complete

Work Environment 

• Regular exposure to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
• This position follows a standard weeklyschedule,however, weekend work may be required based on business needs.
