Registered Nurse Med/Surg UnitFairview is looking for a Registered Nurse on the Med/Surg Unit at Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN.Schedule: This role is a.75 FTE (60 hours every 2 weeks) working 12-hour night shifts, with every third weekend rotation. Free parking is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.About this Unit: The Lakes Medical/Surgical Unit is a 32-bed unit which delivers care to primarily adults & occasionally adolescents. Disease processes include the areas of general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, respiratory, endocrine, hematology, renal, cardiac, gastroenterology, podiatry, and urology. Patients are admitted through the Emergency Department, Surgical Services or directly from in and out of system clinics and hospitals. Patient care is multidisciplinary and includes Nursing, Hospitalists, Social Work, Discharge Planning, Spiritual Care, Infection Prevention, Pharmacy, Palliative Care, Laboratory, Nutrition, Diagnostics, Respiratory, and Rehabilitation.Responsibilities:The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of careDevelops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health careDemonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP)Required Qualifications:1 year of RN experienceMN Registered Nurse (RN) LicenseBasic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Nursing1 year experienceBenefit OverviewFairview offers a generous benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, PTO/vacation and Safe and Sick Time, tuition reimbursement, retirement and more!
