The Global Workplace and Infrastructure (GWI) team is responsible for all facilities, from acquisition through operation to disposition, with a global capital budget of over $1.5B+ and operating budget of $500M+. As a member of the GWI North America Projects, Real Estate & Space Planning team, you will play an important role in delivering the capital and tenant improvement projects that make this growth possible.The Project Manager, GWI Projects – NAM is responsible for delivering hi-tech equipment installation and tenant improvement construction projects across the NAM portfolio, including complex cleanroom and semiconductor manufacturing environments, using the project delivery and execution strategy best suited to each project. You will manage project scope, schedule, and budget through all phases of design, contracting, and construction, and will be knowledgeable of construction processes, startup, testing, commissioning, and acceptance of systems and buildings.You will be accountable for a proven track record in managing a safety culture, using leading indicators and methods that promote a safe working environment, including incident investigation and corrective actions. You will partner closely with business unit stakeholders, architecture/engineering firms, Facilities Operations, and EH&S to develop, review, and approve design criteria, layouts, and detailed drawings, and to ensure compliance with applicable laws and codes.You will be based in Austin, TX. The role requires travel to support projects across the NAM portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesManage project scope, schedule, and budget through all phases of design, contracting, and construction for hi-tech equipment installation and tenant improvement projects.Participate in the planning of facilities changes for laboratories and equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations.Coordinate with internal business partners, architecture/engineering firms, Facilities Operations, and EH&S in developing, reviewing, and approving design criteria, layouts, and detail drawings.Prioritize re-use of existing designs that have been previously permitted and inspected, and work with EH&S to maintain compliance with laws and local codes.Resolve issues related to design criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.Review and estimate design costs, including equipment, installation, labor, materials, and other related costs, categorized by capital & expense and by construction category (similar to CSI categories).Inspect construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules; participate in commissioning of the facility or improvement and hand-off to the lab owner and/or building operations.Schedule building inspections and obtain inspection approvals.Manage and direct construction project managers as needed for RFIs, project scope of work, bid comparisons, work plan generation, and conditional and full use approvals.Manage project budgets, cost reporting, and closure.To Succeed in this Role Requires:Demonstrated depth and/or breadth of expertise in construction project management within a specialized technical environment.Ability to interpret internal and external business and technical challenges and recommend best practices to improve processes and outcomes.Ability to work independently, seeking guidance only in the most complex situations.Sophisticated analytical judgment to solve complex problems and identify innovative solutions.Ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view.Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.Comfortable operating both as an individual contributor and as part of a larger, multi-functional team.Experience:Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline.7 to 10 years of relevant experience in construction project management or facilities engineering.Working experience as a construction project manager or facilities engineer in semiconductor manufacturing (wafer fab) facilities a strong plus.Knowledge of semiconductor facility systems including but not limited to acid waste and exhaust, solvent waste and exhaust, chilled/condenser water, hot water, process chilled water & DI water, process gases, controls, and monitoring systems.Knowledge of Fire Life Safety and Gas Life Safety Systems and requirements.Knowledge of City Permit requirements, National Electrical Code, International Building Code, and Fire Codes.Knowledge of Environmental & Safety regulations and requirements.Knowledge of building control systems and remote energy management systems.Strong analytical skills and knowledge of SPC, 8D, DMAIC, FMEA, and other related tools.Highly proficient in AutoCAD and Windows-based software including Excel, Word, Project, Visio & PowerPoint.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Additional InformationTime Type:Full timeEmployee Type:Assignee / RegularTravel:Yes, 25% of the TimeRelocation Eligible:NoThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
