About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative (IFAI). The successful candidate will be a key leader in the national work of the IFAI, responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive policy analysis and Tribal Governance strategy. This role involves direct engagement with Tribal governments, colleges, and inter-tribal organizations, as well as with foundation and private funders. The Executive Director will also lead fundraising activities, supervise IFAI staff, and be the primary representative of the IFAI in public and private settings. The position requires a JD degree, a minimum of 6 years' of experience as an attorney, and a strong background in federal Indian law and policy, particularly in the areas of agriculture and related fields. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a proven track record in leading national initiatives on food and agriculture policy, as well as experience in project delivery funded by federal or private organizations. The role demands a high level of expertise in national policy analysis, public speaking, and technical assistance, particularly with Native American populations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, a JD degree, and a minimum of 6 years' of experience in the relevant fields. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in food, agriculture, and/or policy, and experience in providing policy interface on complex issues related to agriculture, food, and rural economic development. The Executive Director must be adept at problem-solving, have strong organizational and supervisory skills, and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues.
