Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes. Work Setting Skills REQUIRED: Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown & Telemetry. Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response Skills REQUIRED: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring & Use of Rapid Response/Code teams. Cardiovascular Skills REQUIRED: TR Band. Endocrine/Metabolic Skills REQUIRED: IV insulin protocols & Titration of Insulin drips. Gastrointestinal Skills REQUIRED: Feeding tube care and management. Genitourinary/Renal Skills REQUIRED: Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI) & Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management. IV therapy/Phlebotomy Skills REQUIRED: Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management & Starting and maintaining IVs. Medications Skills REQUIRED: Heparin Protocols, PCA, Thrombolytic Agents, Titrate Cardiac drips & Titrate Vasoactive drips. Neurological/Psychiatric Skills REQUIRED: Aneurysms and repair, Craniotomy, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Intracranial bleeds, Lumbar drains, Post TPA care, Pre/Post neurosurgery, Seizure disorders, Spinal cord injury, Substance Withdrawal & Traumatic Brain injury. Plastics Skills REQUIRED: Surgical Drains. Respiratory Skills REQUIRED: BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance, Care of Ventilated Patient, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks & Tracheostomy care/management. Professional Topics and Skills REQUIRED: Isolation Precautions/PPE & Wound Care/Wound Vac. Additional Skills REQUIRED: Must be able to titrate LEVO & SCREEN + Call out if Neuro exp is limited. EPIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Certs: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:-IV Therapy/Phlebotomy Skills: Accessing/Managing Ports & Phlebotomy -Additional Skills: Triage, ICP, Conscious Sedation, and Charge Nurse Experience.Certs: CCRN, TNCC, and CPI.

Job Details:-RATIOS: 1:4. Avg. Daily Census: Unit will max at 24 patients; Rooms/Beds: 24. "Normal population"= Intermediate population that is sub-specialized with neurological population along with medical intermediate patients.-SHIFT: 36 and 48s can be offered. Unit will accept contracts from 16+ weeks up to February 27, 2027 (hard stop) to get the Unit through the Holidays!-12-HOUR NIGHTS; 18:45 - 07:15-Call Requirement: NONE-Float Requirement: Other intermediate areas like 6a or 5A PCTU or 5C Cardiac Intermediate along with critical care (ICU/Stepdown patients)-Weekend Requirement: travelers will be required to work a minimum of 3 weekend shifts every six weeks. Patient Diagnoses: Intermediate population that is sub specialized with neurological population along with medical intermediate patients. Special Procedures / Unit Details: This patient population will be geared towards the neurological patients along with the medical intermediate patient population. Must have a teamwork approach and meet Novant behavioral expectations in all interactions with patients and staff. Must be able to adhere to Call off policy -STRONGLY ENFORCED. Special Equipment: N/A. Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR. Scheduling Type: Per Unit Needs. Unit Orientation: 32 Hours; 8-hour computer class plus two shifts on the unit of orientation after initial Hospital Orientation. SCRUBS: Not Provided. Any combination of navy blue and white.
