This position involves working within a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a total bed count of 120. The unit is equipped with 18 rooms, 5 alcoves, and 3 hallways to provide comprehensive care to our patients. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a busy emergency department. Perform special procedures including central lines, procedural sedations, cardiac transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), bronchoscopy, bubble studies, paracentesis, lumbar punctures, and blood patch procedures. Utilize ultrasound technology for IV insertions. Collaborate with on-site pharmacy available 24/7 to enhance patient care. Unit Information Call Requirement: None Floating: None required Weekend Coverage: Staff works every third weekend. Medication System: Pyxis EMR System: Cerner, Launchpoint PICC Team: Available but rarely utilized by the ED. Lifts: No lift teams present. Phlebotomy: On-site ED phlebotomists available on two shifts (8 AM to 8 PM and 12 PM to 12 AM). Transport: Not available for the ED. Unit Secretary: Available in two shifts (7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM). Hospitalist: Available 24/7. Additional Information Special Equipment: Ultrasound for IV insertion and a brain cooling machine for targeted temperature management. Scrubs: Any color allowed.
