Job Summary:
The Paramedic provides direct patient care within the scope of their license or under physician supervision, following established rules, regulations, and protocols. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive patient assessments, administering emergency medications, prioritizing care, and documenting treatments accurately. The Paramedic also ensures ambulances and stations are maintained, stocked, and ready for service, and may assist with medical treatment in other hospital departments as directed. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in emergency situations according to state protocols and scope of practice.
- Perform complete, population-specific patient assessments and establish care priorities.
- Administer emergency medications as authorized by Wyoming State regulations.
- Document patient assessments and treatments accurately using the WATRS reporting system.
- Maintain and ensure ambulances and stations are clean, stocked, and ready for service at all times.
- Assist with medical treatment of patients in other hospital departments under provider and RN direction within scope of practice.
- Prioritize tasks and manage time, personnel, and resources to meet department goals and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Current Paramedic licensure with at least one year of paramedic experience.
- Knowledge and adherence to Wyoming State Scope of Practice for Paramedics.
- Proficiency in emergency medication administration.
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and prioritize care.
- Competence in accurate documentation using electronic reporting systems.
- Experience working in hospital or ambulance service settings.
- Familiarity with hospital department workflows and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Must comply with all Wyoming State rules and regulations governing paramedic practice.
- May be required to assist other hospital departments under supervision.
- Responsibility for maintaining ambulance readiness and station cleanliness.
- Work schedule and shifts as assigned to ensure 24/7 ambulance coverage and hospital support.
