Details 29-bed unit caring for orthopedic and medical surgical patients from adulthood through geriatrics Telemetry monitoring available on the unit On-site physical therapy gym allows patients to receive therapy without leaving the unit High volume of total joint replacements, fracture repairs, and kyphoplasties Moderate volume of other surgical procedures and inpatient/24-hour observation medical patients Patient ratio of 1:5-6 Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday) No call requirements Floating required as needed, including to any Cone Health campus Charge RN shifts required as needed Charge nurses carry a patient load on this unit Mixed staffing of RNs and LPNs Schedules are set every six weeks based on unit demands with set weekend schedules only Requirements Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Previous travel nursing experience required Previous Charge RN experience required EPIC EMR experience required Skills required in IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, peripheral line care, and central line blood draws Experience with oxygen tanks and nasal cannula required Experience with colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management required Experience with continuous bladder irrigation, pre/post hemodialysis management, and renal failure care required Experience with heparin administration required Skilled in interpretation of dysrhythmias and telemetry remote monitoring Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac required Experience in Med/Surg, MS/Tele, orthopedics, ortho trauma, and total joint replacement settings required Valid driver's license required to verify address Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed) No open background check cases permitted Additional Information Provide nursing care across a mix of orthopedic and medical surgical patient populations Preferred skills include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, PICC line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, CVA and neurosurgical care, PCA medication management, and surgical drain care Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, with no local rates offered RTO must be submitted at the time of application; no post-submission RTO accepted Third-party education verification required, with degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list not accepted American Traveler Job ID P-745755.
