Role Description

Nex is on a mission to help families rediscover the joy of movement. Created by parents for parents, Nex combines technology and play to deliver fun, social, and interactive experiences powered by natural body motion, encouraging kids and adults to move more, play more, and have fun together.

Nex Playground features a growing library of 50+ experiences, including motion and dance games, fitness and educational experiences, and Nex Originals. Content includes collaborations with partners like Hasbro, Sesame Workshop, and NBCUniversal.

Join a small, ambitious team where your work shapes how customers first discover and fall in love with our product. You'll be a frontend-first engineer who owns and evolves our marketing site — the CMS powering our pages, the component library keeping our UI consistent, the performance and the polish that makes every visit feel intentional.

Qualifications

• You've built and maintained a performant, production marketing site that real teams depend on.
• You've set up or significantly evolved a CMS for a non-technical team.
• You care about code quality and reliability.
• You've diagnosed and fixed real performance bottlenecks on a public-facing site.
• You’re ready to take charge end-to-end — from scoping and building to deployment and smoke testing in production.
• You've worked closely with non-engineering teams before.
• You have a DIY mindset and genuine obsession with code quality, user experience, and craft.
• You embrace AI-assisted tools like Claude Code.
• You are proficient in TypeScript and have experience in modern full-stack JS frameworks.

Requirements

• Bonus points if you've already shipped something in Svelte.
• Have a good eye for design and are comfortable giving and receiving feedback in design tools like Figma.
• Have worked with Sanity CMS.
• Have experience with international localization tools and architecture.
• Have implemented privacy compliance (e.g. GDPR) and managed cookie consent flows.
• Have maintained software libraries or written technical documentation others actually want to read.
