MAINT TECH - IN HOUSE MAINTENANCE

Location Middletown, NY Hours Mon-Fri 7:30am-4pm Rate $20/hr Overview of Primary Responsibilities A Maintenance Tech is responsible for keeping the facilities and equipment operating and repairing any problems that are identified. The position covers housing apartments, HVAC units, administrative offices, and more. Primary Functions Provide excellent customer service and oversee safe upkeep of Access facilities. Use tools and skills in light plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, light electrical systems, landscaping, and snow removal. Manage assigned work orders from start to completion; inspect houses and admin buildings; maintain inventory of tools and supplies; schedule repairs; collaborate with site team when necessary. Perform snow cleanup in winter and mow grass in spring and fall, operating motorized equipment as trained. Additional Functional / Organizational Support Support other departments with requests for building/moving/transferring office furniture and equipment. Qualifications and Attributes Minimum 5 years of experience in general maintenance and a maintenance specialty. Specialization in one or more trades such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, landscaping, etc. Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues. Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles. Ability to perform painting and landscaping assignments to agency standards. Willingness to improve skill set through informal apprenticeship. Education and Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in general maintenance and a maintenance specialty. Physical Characteristics Capable of sitting or standing for long periods. Able to twist to reach equipment surrounding work area. Strong visual, hearing and speech acuity to perform all job aspects. Capable of simple grasping or fine manipulation. Ability to use a telephone and basic computer knowledge. Capable of moving throughout workday and working alongside co-workers within 3 feet. Capable of moving in tight spaces and climbing stairs/ladders. Occasional lifting of 50+ pounds.
