Role Description The Assistant General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Side Pockets Lenexa in Lenexa, KS. This role supports the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, including supervising front-of-house and back-of-house staff, monitoring service quality, and ensuring a clean, safe, and organized environment. The Assistant General Manager helps manage scheduling, training, and performance, addresses guest concerns, and promotes excellent customer experiences. Responsibilities also include supporting inventory control, cash handling procedures, and adherence to company policies and health and safety standards. The role requires hands-on leadership on the floor, active participation in problem-solving, and collaboration with management to meet operational and financial goals. Qualifications Experience in hospitality, restaurant, bar, or entertainment venue operations, preferably in a supervisory or assistant management role. Strong leadership abilities, including team supervision, training, coaching, and performance management. Proficient in customer service, conflict resolution, and handling guest feedback in a professional and courteous manner. Knowledge of basic business operations such as scheduling, cash handling, inventory management, and cost control. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business needs. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse team members and guests. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in maintaining standards and procedures. Basic computer literacy for point-of-sale systems, email, and standard office applications. Understanding of health, safety, and sanitation guidelines in a hospitality environment.
