Maintenance Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor. Assists in communication with residents, if necessary, regarding work tickets or needed repairs. Prepare apartments for change in occupancy, which may include painting, cleaning, and delivering appliances. Cleans internal areas of the community, including dusting, sweeping, and mopping of the clubhouse, offices, model apartments, and amenities. Maintains grounds by picking up trash and cleaning common areas. Empties trash cans and consolidates trash for weekly pickup. Must possess basic knowledge of hand tools. Operate snow removal equipment and shovel snow to maintain parking lots and sidewalks. Assists other departments with moving furniture, appliances, and unloading and storing appliances. Light electrical (replacing light bulbs and sockets). Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry, etc.). After-hours on-call availability, overtime, and weekend availability. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. HVAC experience is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer skills required: Microsoft Word & Excel, Outlook Other skills required: Carpentry, appliance repair, plumbing experience, minor electrical experience, knowledge of painting, sheetrock repair, etc.
