English Teacher Position

The Black Horse Pike Regional School District has an opening for an English Teacher at Timber Creek for the 2026-2027 school year. Qualifications include a valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate and subject-area endorsement or eligibility. The candidate should have deep knowledge of content specialty and the ability to design engaging, student-centered learning experiences. Proficiency in research-based instructional strategies, technology integration, and assessment practices is required. Commitment to creating an inclusive, positive, and equitable classroom environment is essential. Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills are necessary. A criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status are required. Demonstrated ability to use digital tools, AI-supported learning platforms, and adaptive technologies to personalize instruction is also needed.

The teacher will report to the Subject Supervisor and Building Principal and will supervise students, and when assigned, student teachers and classroom paraprofessionals. The job goal is to design and deliver innovative, standards-aligned learning experiences that foster academic achievement, critical thinking, creativity, and personal growth. The teacher will help students develop the skills, mindsets, and digital literacies necessary for success in college, careers, and citizenship in a rapidly changing world, while building strong partnerships with families, colleagues, and the wider community.

Performance responsibilities include implementing New Jersey Student Learning Standards and District goals by engaging students in authentic, inquiry-based, and project-based learning. Designing lessons that leverage technology, multimedia, and adaptive tools to personalize instruction and support diverse learners. Providing equitable opportunities for voice, choice, collaboration, and reflection to empower students as active participants in their own learning. Developing and communicating clear objectives and success criteria for each lesson, incorporating equitable opportunities for critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. Assessing academic progress and social-emotional growth using a variety of formative and summative measures, providing timely, constructive feedback. Maintaining accurate, digital records of student progress and using data analytics to inform instructional decisions. Identifying student needs and collaborating with colleagues, counselors, and support staff to address learning, behavioral, and wellness concerns. Creating and sustaining a safe, inclusive classroom culture that values diversity, equity, and respect, fostering a climate where all learners thrive. Effectively managing class time, routines, and transitions to maximize learning opportunities. Building partnerships with parents and guardians through ongoing, transparent communication (including digital platforms) to support student success. Designing assessments and assignments that require analysis, evaluation, and creation. Supervising students in a variety of school-related settings and activities. Pursuing continuous professional growth by engaging in professional learning communities, in-service opportunities, and independent study. Participating in schoolwide initiatives, interdisciplinary projects, and committees that advance District goals. Integrating community, cultural, and global resources into learning experiences to expand student perspectives. Upholding school policies, District regulations, and professional ethics. Performing other duties consistent with the role of a certified educator as assigned.

Salary is based on education and experience on the BHPEA Salary Guide - $60,500 - $102,350. This position includes health benefits, dental benefits, EAP services, access to wellness and discount programs.
