Part-Time / Hourly, Non-Exempt Pay: $22.00–26.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

At least 6 months of experience performing ABA services with children with autism spectrum disorders is required for this position. 

Weekly Schedule: Position will start as part time (15-20 hrs/week) and have the potential to grow into a full-time position.

Work Setting: In-person services in client homes, clinic, school and community settings, depending on client assignment

Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred.

NOTE: This position will be assigned to provide services in the North Orange County Area: Anaheim, Brea, Buena Park, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Fullerton, Garden Grove, La Habra, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Orange, Placentia, Seal Beach, Stanton, Villa Park, Westminster and Yorba Linda.

The ABA Company is seeking compassionate, dependable and energetic Behavior Technicians (BTs) to provide one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children and adolescents in their homes and communities throughout the Cerritos and surrounding Southern California area.

What You'll Do

As a Behavior Technician, you will work directly with clients under the supervision and direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide individualized, one-on-one ABA therapy in clients' homes and community settings
• Implement skill-acquisition and behavior-support programs developed by the supervising BCBA
• Help clients build meaningful skills in areas such as communication, social interaction, play, independence, self-help, and daily living
• Use evidence-based ABA strategies including reinforcement, prompting, natural-environment teaching, and structured teaching activities
• Support behavior-intervention and safety procedures according to each client's approved treatment plan
• Collect accurate data during sessions to measure client progress
• Complete timely and accurate session documentation using CentralReach
• Communicate relevant observations and client progress to supervising clinicians
• Participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings
• Maintain professional boundaries, client confidentiality, and respectful communication with clients and families
• Promote client dignity, choice, engagement, and independence throughout services
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, clinical protocols, and applicable funding-source requirements

Behavior Technicians implement treatment plans under clinical supervision. They do not independently assess clients, develop treatment plans, modify clinical protocols or make independent clinical decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• AT LEAST 6 months of previous ABA therapy experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have completed a minimum of 30 hours of competency-based training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) designed by a certified behavior analyst, consistent with California Code of Regulations, Title 17, Section 54342(b).
• Must provide documentation verifying successful completion of the required training prior to employment.
• Must meet applicable education, training, experience and supervision requirements established by California law and relevant funding sources.
• Comfortable working directly with children and/or individuals with developmental disabilities
• Able to follow written treatment protocols and accept ongoing feedback and supervision
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable, punctual and able to maintain a consistent client schedule
• Able to accurately collect data and complete electronic documentation
• Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for work-related documentation
• Reliable transportation to client homes and community locations
• Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance, when driving is required for assigned cases
• Able to successfully complete required background and pre-employment screenings
• Able to meet the physical demands of providing active, play-based and natural-environment ABA services
• Previous experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities
  

Preferred, But Not Required

• College coursework in psychology, child development, education, special education, social work, behavioral science, or a related field
• Bilingual or multilingual skills

Important: BT vs. RBT

This position is for a Behavior Technician (BT) . An active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board is not required at the time of hire.

The ABA Company recognizes BT and RBT as distinct roles/credential statuses. Employees who later become eligible and choose to pursue RBT certification may have additional professional-development opportunities based on company needs, payer requirements, and individual qualifications.

Assignment to particular clients or funded services may also depend on the credentialing, training, experience, and provider qualifications required by the client's health plan, Regional Center or other funding source.

Schedule & Service Area

Services are primarily provided in clients' homes and in our clinic , with additional school or community-based opportunities depending on client needs and authorization.

Our office is located in Cerritos, CA 90703. C ases will be available throughout North Orange County.

Client schedules vary, with many ABA sessions occurring Monday through Friday during afternoon and early-evening hours . Additional daytime, evening, or weekend opportunities may be available depending on client needs.
