Machinist I

Location: San Fernando Valley, CA
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $19.00–$22.50/hr DOE

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, CNC lathes, precision grinders, and other machine shop equipment.

• Operate drill presses, punch presses, cutting saws, and related machining equipment.

• Perform basic edits and adjustments to CNC mill and lathe programs.

• Read and interpret blueprints, prints, and written work instructions.

• Use calipers, micrometers, rulers, measuring tapes, and other machinist measuring tools.

• Perform machine operations accurately while meeting established quality and productivity standards.

• Follow company quality, safety, and equipment-use procedures.

• Work effectively with other team members.

• Perform additional machine shop duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Machinist experience required.

• Minimum 3 years of experience with machine setup and operation.

• Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and CNC lathes.

• Experience editing CNC mill and lathe programs.

• Experience operating precision grinders, drill presses, punch presses, and cutting saws.

• Basic shop mathematics required.

• Strong blueprint and print-reading skills.

• Knowledge of decimal and metric measurement systems.

• Experience using calipers, micrometers, rulers, and measuring tapes.

• Must have basic machinist tools.

• Basic computer skills required.

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

• Good English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Ability to stand at a machine for at least 80% of the workday.

• Reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance required.

• High school diploma, occupational/technical training, or equivalent required.
