Job Description:

The RN in the NICU will provide specialized care for newborns in a Level 4 NICU unit. The nurse must be proficient in maintaining sterile fields and perform tasks such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. This role also requires participation in educational sessions on lifts, restraints, and wound care.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain sterile field during procedures.
• Participate in educational SIMs Lab for skill verification.
• Provide care for common diagnoses like premature birth, cardiac defects, and genetic disorders.
• Float to mother baby and labor care for babies only as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in NICU Level 3 or 4.
• Required Certifications: BLS, NRP. Cardiac STABLE preferred.
• Proficiency in Cerner EMR system.
• Complete SIMs Lab with a focus on Foley catheter and central line dressing change skills.
