Quantitative Research Analyst

Redwood is seeking a Quantitative Research Analyst to join the investment research team. This candidate should ideally already have a CFA or is in the process of receiving a CFA designation. Redwood Investment Management is a quantitative research focused investment firm managing over $2 billion. Redwood is the advisor to the Redwood Mutual Funds, and LeaderShares ETFs. Redwood is a pioneer of the RiskFirst philosophy and process to drive better outcomes for financial advisors and their clients. Our offices are in Scottsdale, AZ. & Los Angeles, CA. This role is not remote and is in our Scottsdale, AZ office.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support Redwood’s portfolio managers and investment team
• Conduct research & statistical analyses on securities and portfolios
• Work and manage large data sets, including unconventional data sources
• Contribute to design and build out of model architecture to quickly test recurring and new investment ideas
• Help create statistical models for market application
• Conceptualize, develop, and improve mathematical models, translating algorithms into code
• Back test for implementing trading models in a real-time environment
• Produce insightful market research content for internal use and for clients

Job Requirements:

• Advanced training and understanding in mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, or another quantitative field
• Strong proficiency in probability & statistics
• CFA Strongly Preferred
• Industry experience with Python, Java/C, analytical packages (R, Matlab)
• Ability to communicate advanced concepts in a concise and logical way
• Proficiency in creating and using algorithms to meticulously investigate and work through large data or error-checking problems
• Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
